Holiday Lights...

Well...this is still work in progress. We got the light up, I took a picture, and then half of them went out. I'm not about to try to figure that out in the dark!

Sleepover

Sam and Hannah headed on over to our house on Friday night for a sleepover. The girls played the game Guess Who forever...they all loved that game. Next, they decided to have a movie night and watch the movie UP. I made popcorn of course! Saturday afternoon, we all went to the movie Planet 51. It was a cute movie. Colton and I definately prefered Aliens in the Attic, but Planet 51 was good. Ashlyn said it was her type of movie. She actually sat still for the whole movie!!!

Jamison/Uecker Thanksgiving

My brother, Curt, and his wife, Tracy, recently purchased a new home. They decided to open it up to both of their families and have one big Thanksgiving. It was many generations of both families under one roof. And...what a beautiful afternoon!

Levi, Tracy's brother Scott's son, and Ashlyn had fun. The played kick in the backyard and ate lots of pumpkin pie together.

I don't think Rose could have been more excited about the box of Ashlyn's old books we brought for her. She told us "don't" when we tried to put the books away. It is good to know they will get more use!

The Schauss Thanksgiving

I am too tired and full to make this post about anything more than pictures...and I still have to look through the black Friday ads!

I will say that most importantly we are so thankful to celebrate Lauren's 1st Thanksgiving. A year ago, her mommy was on bed rest in the hospital hoping to keep Lauren in her tummy as LONG as possible. Little Lauren is truly a blessing this Thanksgiving.

Finally made it back home for a weekend.

We went back to my parents house for the weekend (Norfolk, NE). We needed to take them a dishwasher and Jeff helped my dad with a few project around the house. OH...and we did a family favorite...watched football together!

Saturday, my mom, Ashlyn, and I made a trip to Cuthills Vineyard. I really like their wine...and it's cheap. At that...it was all super cheap...ON SALE. I'm always up for a sale. I can never find wine that compares...all be it I have really sweet taste in wine. I'm glad to finally have a stock pile in my basement again!

Ahhhh...finally Cuthills wine!

So...Ashlyn really enjoyed playing with her Great-Grandma Verna. I bet Verna went home really tired after 6 hours of Ashlyn. It was fun to see Ashlyn so excited to keep Verna busy!

Colton and Great-Grandma Verna. Colton enjoyed learning some family history as he is preparing for a project in school. He thought it was awesome that Great Grandma butchered and prepared 30 chickens in one day!

Football...here's Colton's idea of watching football.

I Don't Like Thanksgiving Day

Oh...I DO like Thanksgiving Day...who wouldn't like all the yummy food? It's just a silly song Ashlyn has been singing all day. Ashlyn said her teacher told her she was suppose to teach it to everyone in her family!

Here are the lyrics...(or at least what I could make of them)
A turkey sat on the backyard fence
Singing a sad, sad tune
Thanksgiving Day is coming soon.
I will be eaten soon
Gobble Gobble
I'd like to run away
Gobble Gobble
Gobble Gobble
I don't like Thanksgiving Day!

Girls Day Out

Ashlyn and I went to the Qwest Center craft show today. The intention was to find a new painted rock. Ashlyn loves painted rocks more than anything in the world...quite likely. She had the cutest guinea pig painted rock on our front porch. Until...someone stole it. The nerve of people. Well...they didn't have any painted rocks. Ashlyn was sad...until we came across the face painting lady. Wow...she was good. (I think I want her to come to Ashlyn's birthday party!) Ashlyn kept her face on all day...even at church tonight!

We also found a bunk bed for the barbies.

And...I remember these from when I was a kid. I loved felt boards. Ashlyn really thought this was cool. ONLY PROBLEM...I have to cut all those little objects out myself. I got through about 3 felt sheets and my hand was killing me. It may take me a few days to get through all the cutting.
